Today, I want to focus on something that I watched for a small amount of years - to be specific, 3 years. The TV Show that I’ve watched for the last 3 years is… Eurovision Song Contest. The first Contest I watched was the 2013 edition - and I must admit, that was the most magical thing that I’ve watched, in my life. The Eurovision Song Contest is a contest in which Europe - and Australia - fight for the trophy of the Eurovision. Each year, there are 43 countries - or less, depending on whether or not they want to participate that year, or in Romania’s case, they are forced to withdraw from the contest - that compete in the Eurovision Song Contest. As everyone says, this is THE biggest TV Entertainment Show in the World, and it is. 200 million people watch the Contest every year, including Australia, China and - for the first - the USA, watched last night’s final. Also, last night saw Justin Timberlake performing in front of those 16.000 people in the Globe Arena and the other 200.000.000 people watching at home. Romania has only a small history, since being in the Contest for only 22 years. Romania débuted in 1994 - they meant to perform in 1993 but were disqualified. The first best results were achieved in 2005 in Kiev, Ukraine, with the song ‘Let Me Try’ by Sistem and Luminița Anghel. The next ones were achieved in 2006 in Athens, Greece, with the song ‘Tornero’ by Mihai Traistariu. The last ones were achieved in 2010 in Oslo, Norway, with the song ‘Playing With Fire’ by Ovi and Paula Seling; they got another chance to represent the country in 2014 in Denmark, with the song ‘Miracle’. Last night was the 2016 Grand Final of the ESC. The winner was unexpected - and it was Ukraine, with the song ‘1944’
This is the only time - in a whole year - I’m excited about an event! And that is the ESC. I wonder how is going to be in Ukraine next year. See you next Eurovision Song Contest. But I will see you on Wednesday with another topic! 😀
